I’m Tess Warner, the elementary art teacher at the amazing Parker Woods Montessori, a public school in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am the proud teacher of 600 budding student artists. This blog will serve as a glimpse into the mess made in the art room throughout the school year and some ideas into how to bring the art room into your home.
I cannot wait to share the projects, fun and pictures of the beauitful art exploration that happens in my classroom!
A little about me: I’m the mama of two girls, one dog, two cats and five chickens. My husband is a funk musician and a music therapist who works with adults with disabilities as part of the Ken Anderson Alliance and Melodic Connections. You can check out his band “Ernie Johnson from Detroit” or catch him playing with “Freekbass and the Bump Assembly.” I love working in my backyard garden, cooking in the kitchen and try to find the time to create a little art of my own. Creativity is a big part of our family life!
I am a proud product of Cincinnati Public Schools. I attended Sands Montessori, Jacobs Center (where Clark started out), Walnut Hills and eventually went full circle to graduate from Clark Montessori High School, part of the first graduating class of 21 students. I have a Bachelors of Journalism, magazine design, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I am working towards my Masters in Art Education.
The 2021-22 school year will be my 6th year working at Parker Woods Montessori, my fourth year as the art teacher. I am so blessed to be part of the amazing community at Parker Woods Montessori and hope you follow this page to gain a glimpse of the art created with my amazing student artists!
